Ethan

Ethan Powell is currently a patient at St. Jude Children's Hospital. He has been diagnosed with leukemia.

Please pray for him and his parents, Ben and Becky.

Click here to read more of his story.

UPDATE: Here is some information I found about Ethan on his website.

Eight week old Ethan Powell was visiting the doctor on a routine checkup, and was 3 hours later diagnosed with life threatening Leukemia. He had a white blood cell count that was 1.6 million, which is immesurable by most hospital scales. It was thought to be a fluke because of the ridiculously high count. But after intensive transfusions and chemo, this little tyke has made it over the first hurdle. He and his family were airlifted to St Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis and he was given a 15% chance to live. This story has all the makings of a modern day miracle. While the mother provides for the child and cares for him, the father has forsaken time with the child to pursue prayers. They truly believe that the child will be healed, but they need your prayers. You must read the website and become part of this story. It is verifiable and something that anyone with a child can understand.

Six Weird Things About Me

I am so excited! It's my first time to be "tagged" for a meme. (Thank you, Mick!)

Here are six weird things about me~

1) I have to drink at least one glass of milk a day. If I don’t drink milk during the day, I feel like I am having a withdrawl (similar to a caffiene withdrawl) and drink some milk before I go to bed.

2) I love to sleep on cold sheets with a lot of blankets.

3) When I eat a piece of pizza, I eat all of the toppings first...then the crust.

4) I make our bed everyday and always have.

5) I have seen all 10 seasons of "Beverly Hills, 90210" three times. (Thanks, SOAPnet.)

6) I once dressed as McGruff the Crime Dog for an annual children's Christmas party in my hometown. (Over 500 children were there.)

Gimme a "B"!

Last week, Southern Girl gave me the letter "B" to incorporate in a fun meme. (Thank you, SG!)

Here are 10 things I like/love that start with the letter "B". (in no particular order)

1) Baseball - My favorite sport to watch. I like the Chicago Cubs and I love being at Wrigley Field. One of my favorite trips I took with Dan was when we went to Cooperstown, NY to see the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. (By the way...only 2 days until pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training!)

2) Bloggers - like Lindsey, Kelli, Susie Pie, Shalee, Southern Girl, and Christine. (I read the blogs of these wonderful women everyday. They encourage me, bless me and make me smile.)

3) Big Idea's Veggie Tales - Bob, Larry and the entire veggie crew has brought countless hours of smiles and laughs to Ainsley's face...and my face, too.

4) Bible - A book I can turn to for comfort and encouragement. I can also read the story of my Savior who loved me and set me free!

5) Blessings - My greatest blessings are my husband, Dan and my daughter, Ainsley Liberty.

6) Blue - with the colors Red and White. I love the Flag. I love America!

7) Betty Suarez - as in "Ugly Betty". This has become a tv show I don't want to miss. It is all about loving yourself. ("It's what's inside that counts.")

8) Bears - as in Chicago Bears. They had a disappointing loss in the SuperBowl but are sure to be back in it next year.

9) Bread - Hot bread with lots of butter. (Since I am "foodie", I had to add a "B" food.)

10) Books - My days consist of reading many books to Ainsley. Two of my favorite children's book authors are Eric Carle and Mo Willems.

(If you would like to participate in this letter meme, leave me a comment and I'll assign you a letter.)

Our little Grizzlies' fan...

... can name every player for the Memphis Grizzlies AND their uniform number.
... knows who Tony Barone, Sr. is.
... would pick watching a Grizzlies' game over anything else on television AND knows where to find the games. (FSN South)
... can tell you who the Grizzlies' mascot is. (Grizz)
... says "Mike Miller" in the perfect "announcer" voice. ("Miiiiiiiike Millllller")
... knows how to pronounce Jake Tsakalidis' last name. ("sock-a-lee-dus")
... loves going to Grizzlies' games with her Daddy.
... has spent many hours looking through the "2006-07 Grizzlies' Yearbook". (see photo)
... knows the Grizzlies wear white uniforms when they are at home and blue uniforms when they are on the road.
... knows the Grizzlies play basketball at "Daddy's work".

28. I am thankful for my hubby, Dan. He is a wonderful husband and father. Although he works hard to be our "bread winner", he makes it a priority to spend quality time with Ainsley and I.

Congratulations, Colts!

There.

I said it.

Yes - I am very disappointed to see that the Bears lost the Super Bowl.

But - of all of the teams they could have lost against, I am glad it was the Colts. The Colts are a "class act" organization and deserved to win. On Sunday night, they were "simply the best".

Now...bring on baseball!
