A new show for the new season

In addition to "Heroes", "Ugly Betty" and "The Office", I will be tuning into "Dancing with the Stars" this season...for this first time.

Why?

Because I am totally rooting for this person!

Bingos

We were watching the Bengals vs the Falcons on Monday Night Football tonight.
Dan was telling Ainsley that her great-grandparents were big Bengals fans.

Ainsley's response was...
"Oh! I love the Bingos!"

Displaying Ainsley's Artwork

Ainsley is quite the budding artist! She spends at least an hour of her day coloring, painting or working with Play-doh. As you can imagine, there is a lot of artwork to display.

So...I decided to create something so she can show-off her masterpieces.

I painted a wood "A" (for "Ainsley") red and added white stickers for polka-dots. I then strung a red and white polka-dotted ribbon across the wall and added a bow at the end. I hung some of her latest artwork with colorful clothes pins on the ribboon for a fun addition to her playroom.

No TV today!

When Dan's parents visited us a few months ago, they brought several boxes with them of momentos from Dan's childhood.

As I was going through a box of Legos, I found this note Dan's dad had written to Dan when he was a child.

Love it!

Tagged by Tara

Tara tagged me to participate in a meme. (Thanks, Tara!)

Here are the rules: 1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts. 2. Players - you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. 3. At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag.

M - I am blessed to be a MOM to a sweet, kind, loving and beautiful daughter...Ainsley.

I - I receive great "organizational" INSPIRATION from blogs like this one and this one.

C - "I am a C...I am a C-H...I am a C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N!" I am blessed to be child of God.

H - I am also a HOMEMAKER. I enjoy making our house a home for my little family every day.

E - I grew up in the EIGHTIES and still listen to 80's music every chance I can. Some of my favorite artists are Rick Springfield, Duran Duran, Def Leppard, Hall and Oates, and WHAM!

L - I LOVE my husband and best friend...Dan.

L - I am LUCKY to have the greatest mother-in-law and father-in-law. They have shown me love in so many ways and are the greatest grandparents Ainsley could ever ask for.

E - In the next year, I will begin EDUCATING Ainsley at home. (So excited about this!)

Now I am tagging one person for each letter of my middle name. That's 8!

Weekend/Monday Recap

Our former neighbor, Amber, came to see our new house. She gave us wonderful housewarming gifts. (a beautiful cross to hang on a wall...an Americana picture frame...a colorful rooster recipe box...and a cute little piggy bank for Ainsley's room.) It was so nice to see her. (We hope our next neighbors are as nice as she is!)

Cubs are finally in first place and won the weekend series with the Cards. (2 out of 3 games) Go Cubbies!

I attended an Uppercase Living party and ordered two quotes for our house. One will be for Ainsley's room and one will be for our dining room. (I'll post pictures in a few weeks after I have transferred them to the walls.)

On Saturday, we had in wall speakers installed for surround sound to accompany the 42" plasma tv in Dan's "man" room. On Sunday night, Dan watched a movie with a couple of friends to "break in" the system.

Bears defeated the Colts in a rematch of the Super Bowl. Go Bears!

Ainsley has been beating me at Monopoly Junior...her newest board game that she is hooked on!

Three kinds of fans

As Ainsley was working on her "F" worksheet today,
she showed me a picture of an electric fan and told me
that there are
"three different kinds of fans".
"There's this one." (pointing to the fan on the worksheet)
"There is also a fan that you hold."
"And there's a fan that watches the Cubs."
(I guess you can tell what team we support.)

Dog Tricks

Click here to see the cutest little dog.
TYPE IN a command and see what happens...
sit, roll over, down, stand, sing, dance, shake, fetch, play dead...
and it's also very cute if you type in a command that's not recognized.
Make sure you type in "kiss", too.
(Thanks for sharing, Amy!)

Cell Phone vs. The Bible

My sweet friend, Lindy, emailed this to me today. It is really something to think about!
**********
I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cellphone?
What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?
What if we flipped through it several time a day?
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?
What if we used it to receive messages from the text?
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it?
What if we gave it to kids as gifts?
What if we used it when we traveled?
What if we used it in case of emergency?
This is something to make you go....hmm...where is my Bible?
Oh, and one more thing.
Unlike our cell phone, we don't have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill.
And no dropped calls!

Clutter Control Freak

For those of you that know me, you know that I LOVE to be organized. (Or "HAVE to be organized" is probably more accurate.)

I was reading Organizing Junkie's blog tonight and found out there is a new "organization" blog.

Click here to see what Clutter Control Freak Blog is all about.

I am definitely adding this to my daily reads!
