Look what Ainsley got in the mail today!

Ainsley's wonderful grandparents subscribed to "Highlights High Five" magazine for her. She received her first issue today and was so excited. First...she got mail! Second...the magazine is so much fun! She immediately sat down and started reading it. She was laughing and smiling the entire time...sharing something from each page with me. There are games, puzzles, stories, recipes and art projects. If you are looking for a fun, colorful, "lots to do" eduacational magazine for your preschooler, I highly recommend this one.
Thanks, Ma and Pa! What a great birthday gift for Ainsley.

Farewell Grizzlies

This photo was taken by Dan at the Grizzlies' last home game.

I LOVE this photo!

It is a picture of Ainsley sitting on center court of FedEx Forum...where the Grizzlies play.

When Dan told Ainsley the season was over, she actually cried. Although she is sad that she won't be able to watch the Griz play now until October, she is very happy that she is having a Grizzlies' themed birthday party in a few weeks.

A new look

Yes...my blog looks different.

I'm not real happy with the way it looks but for me to be able to update to the newest version of Blogger, I couldn't save my previous cute template that Susie created for me.

I hope in the next month I can ask Susie to update my template. (She does such great work!)

To make you smile

As I have mentioned before, Ainsley loves jokes! Her newest hobby is to read and tell me jokes...all day long...from her joke book.

Here is the joke she thought was the funniest today:

Q: What do baby ghosts wear on their feet?
A: Booties!

Still our little Grizzlies' fan

Last year, I wrote a post on our little Grizzlies' fan...Ainsley.

This year, Ainsley's love for the Grizzlies has grown by leaps and bounds. (Or should I say "rebounds"?)

Why is Ainsley THE biggest fan her daddy and I know?

~ She can name all of the players...the entire roster... and their jersey numbers.
~ She knows who the coach is. (Marc Iavaroni)
~ She knows who the mascot is. (Grizz) She even sent him a "get well soon" card when he was diagnosed with Lymphoma earlier in the year. (She has missed seeing Grizz a lot this year.)
~She knows that the Grizzlies wear white when they are home and blue when they are away. (In fact, she told me that she likes her daddy's car ~ which is white in color ~ the best because it is the color the Grizzlies wear when they are home.)
~She is often seen reading and browsing through the Grizzlies' 2007-08 Media Guide.
~ She can tell you the number to call if you want to order tickets to a Grizzlies' game. (888.HOOP)
~ When she prays, she will sometimes ask God to help the Grizzlies win.
~She once told her daddy ~ "I love you because you are a Grizzlies' fan."
~ She has been to over 10 home games this year and has greatly enjoyed each and every one of them.
~ If you ask her who her "hero" is, she will tell you it is Rudy Gay. She even has one of his jerseys that she wears to every game.
~ She enjoys making "Grizzlies' World" with her Grizzlies' flag, Grizzlies' trading cards, Grizzlies' Media Guide, and Grizzlies' stuffed bear.
~ Her favorite game to play is "Guess what Grizzly" ~ where she gives hints about a player and Dan and I have to guess who she is talking about.
~ She wanted to send the players Valentine's Day cards and proclaimed "Rudy Gay is my Valentine!"
~ Her favorite pajamas have the Grizzlies' logo all over them. (see photo above) Her daddy gave them to her for Christmas.
~ She is often heard practicing the Grizzlies' starting line-up in her best announcers' voice.
~ She wants to have a Grizzlies' themed party for her 5th birthday this year. (So that's what we're going to do!)

So...do YOU think she is the biggest Grizzlies' fan you know?

Always a comedian

I have mentioned before how happy I am that Ainsley has such a great sense of humor. (She definitley takes after her dad.)

Today, I bruised my heel and it hurt a lot! I was almost in tears and saying "Ow! Ow! Ow!!" Ainsley heard me and came into the room. Here is how the conversation went:

Ainsley: "Mommy! What's wrong?"
Me: "I hurt my foot."
Ainsley: "Where does it hurt, Mommy?"
Me: "Here" (pointing to my heel)
Ainsley: "Oh! Well I hope it HEALS soon! Get it? 'Heels' soon!" (proceeds to laugh)

Suddenly, my heel felt MUCH better.
